This was something I wanted to do for sometime and so one day I made the call. I went to an orientation and made the decision that it was what I really wanted to do. After a one on one interview" that I passed" I had to get my references in order. Shortly after all the references came in I got THE CALL. It was 3 months to the day that I had applied that I was accepted. I could not believe it my self. The day after the call I got another call... They found me a match.... OMG that was fast I said. We met five days later. His name is Vicente and he is 10 years old and will be 11 on 10/31. He lives with his mom about 4 miles from where I work so it is easy to go see him or pick him up right after work. We get together every Wednesday for about 4 hours and every other Sunday for as long as we like. We have done so many things together.
Mini golf,swimming,shopping,bowling,out to eat and more. He is a real good kid. He is so smart, he has a scholarship to a private school through the 12th grade as long as he keeps the grades up. Which by the way are all A's and 1 B. He would like to be a cop, then a Judge, then the President. He is also on a baseball team and plays soccer. Last week we bought a model plane that we will start putting together this week.
I am really looking forward to being a Big Brother to Vicente. I am sure the future holds alot for Vicente and I hope to be there to share it and grow with him.
