I haven't posted for a while and I just wanted everyone to know I'm still alive. Have I completely lost interest in blogging? That remains to be seen. Perhaps I have and it's just a temporary thing -- I've been spending a lot of time outside because it's been oh so very nice lately.
Does anyone know why my font color changed back to black and will not change to blue no matter what I do? I'd appreciate any insight...
I've been pretty wrapped up in the Virginia Tech shootings. I haven't decided what I think of the fact that NBC chose to release Cho's "Multimedia Manifesto." It was definitely exploitive and unnecessary, but I must admit the video, photos and writings completely fascinated me. I also find it interesting that the news media traveled all the way to South Korea to talk to Cho's family. I feel sorry for them -- what do you say when a family member commits such a heinous crime?
Enough of that.
I've been up since 7:30 AM this Saturday morning, which is a relatively rare occurrence for me. I went to Oakland Park Nursery and bought some vegetable plants for my garden. I planted lots of broccoli and greens along with some tomatoes, cabbage and, just for kicks, celery. I also dug up the strawberry plants from my old garden and transplanted them in my new garden. I hope they survive.
That's all for now. I have to check in with my feeds to see what Britney and the like have been up to these past few days ...
I recently finished the two Phoenix Wrights and Hotel Dusk and I'm looking for something similar. Any suggestions?
Have you ever done something so stupid that you almost can't live with yourself? Yesterday I was running scandisk on my computer when something happened and I got the Blue Screen of Death at startup. I fooled with it and could not get it to do anything. I put in the recovery disc and before I knew what was happening it reformatted my hard drive. I almost vomited. And here's the part that has me kicking myself -- I HAD NO BACK UP except for a dvd full of photos. For the life of me I don't know why I was operating in such a devil may care way.
Today I'm up and running and it's almost like having a new computer. No clutter. And I picked up a back up hard drive yesterday. I've recreated what I can and am just moving on.
Look at this little hard drive:
Isn't it cute? I'm thinking of buying it some clothes. Or maybe I'll wear it around my neck like a little flash drive.
Anyway, I'm back in business and I've learned a huge lesson. Backup early and often...
Those of you who read my blog know that I have a love-hate relationship with Fergie. She both attracts and repulses me in ways I do not understand. My latest gripe with the lady Pea is that she feels the need to spell out words in her songs. I thought it was a fluke when Fergilicious came out, but not she's spelling Glamorous in her latest Top 40 hit. Perhaps she had a bad spelling bee experience as a child. And what about that line "I still go to Taco Bell" -- I find it hard to believe Fergie indulges in fast food since I'm constantly seeing pictures of her "workin' on her fitness." I just can't picture her chowing down on a Chimichanga.
I'm not even going to talk about her facial reconstruction surgeries. Or the fact that she apparently likes to pee on stage. Some things just shouldn't be discussed.
Who am I?
- There are three cats and one dog in my household.
- I love my Nintendo DS Lite. I use it daily.
- I wish I had a Blackberry – I owned one for about a year but the extra phone charges associated with it were just to much. I now have a plain old ordinary cell phone.
- I enjoy bike riding and gardening.
- I spend an inordinate amount of time on my computer.
- The Sopranos and Big Love are my favorite shows. On a side note, Chloe Sevigny both fascinates and repulses me.
Here are four things I cannot live without:
- Cable modem
- DVR
- Netflix subscription
- Netgator and my news feeds
A few words about current events:
- Howard K. Stern is a big loser who needs to get a job.
- If you don’t like what Don Imus says, don’t listen to him. I don’t.
- Lindsay Lohan is clearly partying again and that’s not water she’s drinking.
- Britney Spears appears to have hired a style consultant and that makes me happy – she’s been too easy to make fun of lately.
Now you know me a little better. And it's time for me to do some more VOX exploring ...
I've decided to see what this social networking stuff is all about. I'm nixing my Typepad blog in favor of Vox. Stay tuned -- I'll start posting soon.
